Golden Globes 2018 Red Carpet Predictions
Los Golden Globes son este fin de semana y siendo la primera fecha de esta temporada de premiaciones definitivamente van a establecer el mood para las demás.
Lejos de los suntuosos vestidos llenos de colores y de volúmenes que estamos acostumbradxs a ver en la alfombra roja de los GG, este año habrá un cambio drástico ya que más de 300 actrices, directoras, productoras, etc., han firmado una iniciativa en respuesta a las tantas declaraciones en contra del acoso sexual en la industria del entretenimiento que hemos visto en los últimos meses del 2017, la iniciativa va a partir este domingo en los Golden Globes donde se espera que todas – o mejor dicho, la gran mayoría – de las actrices vistan solo negro.
Por eso me tomé la tarea de traerles los mejores diseños de las temporadas Primavera/Verano 2018, Pre-Fall 2018 y Alta Costura Invierno 2017 que muero por ver en la premiación número 75 de los Globos de Oro, ustedes díganme qué les parece y si coinciden conmigo en algunas o mejor, en todas ;)
The year hasn’t even started officially and yet the award season has started its engines with this weekend’s Golden Globes, which will definitely set the mood for the rest of the season for it will look considerably different from years past.
Far from the flounces, metallic and bold colors we’re accustomed to see in its red carpet, this year we’ll see a total black-out as Hollywood’s women – and men – will dress in all absence of color in response to all the sexual harassment claims that have flooded the entertainment industry in the past months – this week over 300 women (including Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, Shonda Rhimes, Eva Longoria and Dakota Johnson) signed an open letter as part of an initiative called Time’s Up which will offer legal defense fund for less-privileged women who have been sexually harassed in the workforce, legislation to penalize companies that tolerate persistent harassment, and a continued push for gender parity at studios.
That’s the reason why I took the liberty of gathering my favorite black gowns from the Spring 2018, Pre-Fall 2018 and Fall Couture 2017 collections and throw a coin to see if we can forecast some of the looks we’ll see this Sunday on the red carpet. Margot Robbie
Nominada por "I, Tonya", donde hace el papel de la campeona estadounidense de patinaje sobre hielo Tonya Harding, Margot Robbie ama seducir con elegancia y la vemos siempre luciendo vestidos body-con con aberturas o escotes profundos, también es fanática de lo asimétrico y los metálicos, es por eso que para ella he escogido un vestido de la cole Spring/Summer 2018 de Versace y otro de la Pre-Fall 2018 de Monse, en cualquiera de los dos estoy seguro que se vería bomba.
Nominated for "I, Tonya", in which she plays the role of US ice-skating champion Tonya Harding, Margot Robbie loves herself a body-con dress with side cut-outs or plunging cleavages. She seduces with elegance and also likes to dazzle in metallics and/or assymetric dresses (remember that time she wore that McQueen unicorn dress?), that's why I picked this Versace Spring/Summer 2018 classic-Gianne-velvet dress and this metallic powerful shoulder Monse Pre-Fall 2018 dress.
Saoirse Ronan
Una de mis actrices jóvenes favoritas, Saoirse es famosa por casi siempre vestir diseñadores europeos - principalmente británicos - y con una elegancia súper austera, muy poca piel al aire y con cierto "whim" que la hace siempre destacar en las alfombras rojas, así que me encantaría verla en este vestido de la cole Spring 2018 de Emilia Wickstead, ¿qué dicen?
One of my favorite upcoming-young actresses, Saoirse if known for wearing European designers on the red carpet - mostly British - with an austere elegance, with little skin showing and with a whimsical flair that has garnered her a fixture at every event she attends, that's why I would love to see her in this Spring 2018 Emilia Wickstead 90's silhouette dress that somehow reminds me of Prince Diana.
Jessica Chastain
Jessica Chastain para mi tiene una de las bellezas más atemporales de toda la industria en estos momentos, aparte que su cabellera cobre va perfecta con el negro, más si estamos hablando de un vestido en terciopelo que acentuaría la profundidad de su ojos verdes y de su tez pálida. A mi me gustaría verla también en un Versace, solo que esta vez en un estilo mucho más noventero de la cole Pre-Fall 2018 - que a la vez le caería hermoso a Laura Dern de Big Little Lies - y ya que estamos en la misma temporada también le pondría este Pamela Rolland.
Jessica Chastain, to me, carries one of Hollywood's most classic beauty so she practically fits in any decade in fashion. Her red mane goes perfectly with black - specially if it's velvet we're talking about - because deepens her green eyes and pale skin. For her I chose this Versace Pre-Fall 2018 90's cut dress - that I also would love to see on Big Little Lies' Laura Dern - and since we're in the same season, why not trying this Pamela Rolland?
Emma Stone
Después de una súper buena temporada el año pasado, Emma regresa este 2018 con solo una nominación por Battle of the Sexes. Stone es una asidua a las grandes casas de moda y no teme a los riesgos, sin embargo, este año toma un papel secundario y para eso también existen vestidos hermosos como este Christian Dior Couture o tal vez este Tom Ford Spring 2018.
After a 2017 high season for Emma, she returns this year with Battle of the Sexes for which she's been nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy. Even though she's taking a second part during these Golden Globes it doesn't mean she has to take the luster out of the equation, so what better than Christian Dior Couture or Tom Ford Spring 2018 to reinforce the fact that she's one of Hollywood's biggest movie stars?
Jessica Biel
Ha sido un buen año para Jessica, luego de haberse dedicado a ser madre por un buen tiempo regresó con The Sinner, una de las series más aclamadas del año y que puedes ver ahorita mismo en Netflix. Sin miedo de ser sensual, Jessica tiene un cuerpo espectacular que creo se podría potenciar al máximo en este vestido de cut-outs en encaje de Elie Saab.
It's been a good year for Jessica. After being out of the scene dedicated to motherhood, she returned with The Sinner, one of the most acclaimed TV shows of last year - which is available now on Netflix. Not afraid of being sensual - no doubt with the body she has - I think this lace-cut-out dress from the Elie Saab Spring 2018 runway would suit her with aplomb.

Nominada por el papel de la gran Bette Davis en la última aventura de Ryan Murphy, Feud, Susan definitivamente va a hacer que todos la miren en este vestido Zac Posen cuyo escote palabra de honor va a convertirse en la piéce de resistance de la noche.

Nominated for her role as the late great Bette David in Ryan Murphy's latest adventure, Feud, Susan will undountledly make you see her if she wears this Zac Posen gown.
The Cast of Big Little Lies
Probablemente la serie que más sorprendió en el 2017, Big Little Lies no solo tenía el perfecto soundtrack, la perfecta fotografía, guión, dirección, como si no fuese poco también tenía un cast valioso como el oro: Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern y Zoe Kravitz.
Muchas de ellas son amantes de la moda y para ellas les preparé selecciones que las cimentarán mucho más en esta noir soir. A Nicole, quien es mi actriz favorita de todos los tiempos, me gustaría verla en algo mucho más sobrio pero igualmente imponente, quizá este Vera Wang Spring 2018 inspirado en otra serie nominada (The Handmaid's Tale) mientras que a Zoe me encantaría que vistiera algo sumamente elegante, un poco alejándose de su imagen bohemia, algo como este Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2018.
Probably one of last year's most surprising TV shows, Big Little Lies not only had one of the most beautiful soundtracks, photography, direction, but also a cast that was complete gold.
Many of these women adore fashion and for them I have chosen some of my favorite dresses from recent seasons for this noir soir. For Nicole I would like a more modest but equally imposing look, so maybe this Vera Wang Spring 2018 (inspired by another nominated show, Handmaid's Tale) would do it. For Zoe, I would love for her to distance herself a little bit from the bohemian image she's portrayed for a while and go for a more cosmopolitan look such as this Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2018 dress.

Mientras que a Shailene me encantaría verla en este Ralph & Russo Spring Summer 2018 ya que a ella le encanta hacer impacto visual. Laura, es otra actriz con una belleza clásica que casi todo se le ve bien (salvo ese vestido Calvin Klein del que ya hablamos en uno de nuestros Fashion Lessons) excepto que con ella hay que tener mucho cuidado con las proporciones, es por eso que me fui por este vestido Pre-Fall 2018 de Oscar de la Renta con un largo prudente que le irá muy bien con su estatura. Hablando de estaturas, Reese es mínima así que para ella escogí otro Versace que después de ser alterado estoy seguro que le lucirá genial, aparte que a Reese sabemos que no le gustan los vestidos frou-frou y siempre se va por colores planos sin mucho detalle.
At the same time, Shailene is known for high visual impact, that's why I chose this Ralph & Russo Spring Summer 2018 dress. Laura is another girl that would look impressive in almost every decade of fashion. She only has to be very careful with proportions given her height (exactly what we learnt when she wore the Calvin Klein feathered dress in one of our Fashion Lessons). And talking about heights, Reese Whiterspoon is known for both her acting skills and her little frame, for her I would like another Versace Spring/Summer 2018 dress, but also one of these two Michael Kors (she also likes to wear American designers) dresses.

Michelle Pfeiffer
La Gatúbela original, este año Pfeiffer me dejó con la boca abierta en mother!, la última película de Darren Aronofsky, no obstante su nominación se la merece por su papel en The Wizard of Lies. Para esta noche quisiera verla en algo grandioso, así como su belleza perenne, por eso escogí este vestidazo de Christian Siriano.
The original Catwoman, Pfeiffer left me speechless this year with her performance in Darren Aronofsky's mother!, nevertheless her nomination arrived thanks to her role in The Wizard of Lies. This night I would love to see her with grandeur, that's why I chose this Christian Siriano gown that would propell her to Hollywood icon.
Claire Foy
Fanática del Gucci de Alessandro Michele, Claire Foy se ha ganado el corazón de muchxs con su papel biográfico de la Reina Elizabeth II en la serie de Netflix "The Crown". Fiel a su predilección por la marca italiana escogí este vestido de la colección Spring Summer 2018 pero le añadí otro look de Armani Privé 2018.
Being a fan of Alessandro Michele's Gucci, Claire Foy has won over the hearts of many with her biographical role as Queen Elizabeth II in Netflix's "The Crown". Faithful to her taste I chose this Spring/Summer 2018 Gucci dress and added another option to the manu with this Armani Privé strapless gown from their Spring Summer 2018 collection.
