Panama Fashion Week: GRAU Spring/Summer 2017

Siempre me ha gustado el trabajo de Alessandra Grau. Siempre me ha gustado que tiene una brújula innata dentro de ella que le dice qué hacer y cuándo hacerlo, y de alguna manera como los gatos al caer Alessandra cae en perfecto balance, para eso hay que tener talento.

Después de una temporada dedicándose a vestidos de novias y de noche Grau regresa a sus raíces: ropa cómoda y ultra-sensual (tomando en cuenta toda perspectiva de la palabra), vestidos de cocktail y prê-à-porter que más que abrigo brindan una confianza inigualable, poder a las mujeres – y hombres – que la visten.

I’ve always been a fan of Alessandra Grau’s work. I’ve actually always loved how she’s developed an innate compass inside of her that tells her how and when to do things, and somehow always ends up being right there on spot. That requires talent indeed.

After a couple of seasons doing bridal and eveningwear Grau returns to what she does best: comfortable, ultra-sensual clothes (taking in account every perspective of the latter adjective), cocktail dresses and prêt-à-porter that more than aesthetics offer self-confidence and power to any woman – or man – who wears the brand.

Para esta colección – su regreso al ready-to-wear – Alessandra reconectó códigos firma de su marca: telas livianas y stretch para vestidos cocktail, espaldas descubiertas, brillo en lurex o lentejuelas, crop-top y tubos así como la magia de los noventas – hablemos de slip-dresses de seda que mantienen el perfecto balance entre leisure fit y el entalle perfecto de busto y caderas.

Lo curioso de esta cole fue que se sintió peculiarmente nuevo milenio, si bien los noventas siguen siendo una tendencia fuerte en las distintas tiendas fast-fashion, los 2000’s aún se sienten cercanos para dictaminarlos como un canon de vestimenta perseguidos por muchos pero sí, digamos que el clóset de Paris Hilton dijo presente y cruzo los dedos para que no se vaya a ninguna parte, por lo menos en el futuro cercano. That’s hot.

For this collection – her comeback to ready-to-wear – Alessandra reconnected to signature codes of her brand: light and stretch fabrics for cocktail dressing, her fetish for sensual and adorned backs, lurex and sequins (shine), skin and crop-tops (in this case feathered and sequined crop tops) and Millennia. A strong point is her skills to make greatly balanced silk slip dresses that combine 90’s leisure silhouettes with great bust and hip fits.

What struck me the most about the collection was exactly this. We all know 90’s decade has and still is a northern light in fashion, but somehow the 2000’s been neglected – maybe they’re not that far away from today to be considered a decade for fashion and nostalgia – but God I loved that every single piece could belong to Paris Hilton’s closet and that’s hot.
